2018 has been quite the whirlwind year so far. Over the last few months, Robert and I started an online business (take a look here!), gave notice at our current jobs, sold our house in Minneapolis, and navigated a whole lot of logistical pieces while trying not to forget anything important. Because in just a few weeks, we are getting on a plane to the East Coast to begin something that we’ve dreamed about – riding our bicycles approximately 4500 miles across the US from Virginia to Oregon, on a route called the TransAmerica Bicycle Trail.
This trip has been in the works for a while, ever since we started to think about relocating from Minnesota to, hopefully, the Denver area sometime in 2018. We realized this was the perfect opportunity to take several months off to complete the TransAm. All the pieces have fallen into place, and we’re currently finishing up moving things into storage, finalizing gear for the trip, and saying goodbyes to Minnesota friends and family as we get ready for this exciting, yet still bittersweet, transition.
We will continue to share about our journey on this blog, as well as posting to Instagram as @ontheleeway, over the coming weeks and months. Whether you’re an old friend, or a new reader of the blog, welcome!
